The Coffee

In 2018, we roasted Kenyan beans for the first time — specifically for the AeroPress Swiss Championships at the Swiss Coffee Connection. As this was also the year we founded our roastery, we'd like to be honest: it was a lot of "learning by doing," with plenty of testing. Nevertheless, the result was highly satisfying, and everyone loved the coffee. Due to this joint history,  we feel a deep connection to Kenya. With our new coffee beans from the Othaya Farmers Cooperative, we now found a fantastic Kenyan that will excite you as well!

A wonderfully balanced all-rounder, perfect for espresso, Bialetti, and fully automatic machines. It can also work as a filter coffee if you enjoy a slight roast flavor. Expect flavors of brown sugar and spices, with notes of sweet stone fruits, dried fruits, and lemonade, paired with a silky, juicy body.

Brew recommendation Espresso: 18g in | 45g out in 35 seconds.

The Producers

Othaya Farmers Cooperative

The Othaya Farmers Cooperative Society in Nyeri, Kenya, brings together dedicated smallholder farmers committed to outstanding quality. Thanks to high elevations, a cool climate, and nutrient-rich soils, the coffee cherries mature slowly, developing remarkable complexity. The farmers practice biointensive agriculture, avoiding synthetic inputs and enhancing soil health sustainably. Careful processing and strict selection ensure that only the finest beans make it to market.
